Service Detail Overview

91 Aufrufe Markdown

Handle one service from a single page: the identity strip states its condition, the alert cards raise what waits on a decision, and the tab strip carries every operation it supports.

Reaching the Screen

Open Orders › Services and click the service: {admin}/services/detail?id={service}. Without a valid ID, or with one pointing at a deleted record, the page answers with the not-found screen.

A second parameter picks the open tab: {admin}/services/detail?id={service}&content=management. Every tab click rewrites it in the address bar, so the address in front of you is the one to hand over; whoever opens it lands on the same tab.

What Is on the Screen

Four regions: the identity strip names the record and its state, the tab strip lists the operation areas, the alert cards sit inside the content box and stay in view on every tab, and the tab panel holds the area you selected. Only that last one changes as you move around.

Identity Strip

The title reads Service Detail with the service name in brackets. Below it sit the state badge and every exception the record carries; badges add up, so a domain can be Active, Overdue and in Grace Period at once.

State badgeOne of Pending Approval, In Progress, Active, Suspended, Cancelled, Completed, Expired.
OverdueThe due date has passed and the service is still Active. Only an active record carries it, so a suspended or cancelled one never does, however late it is.
TransferA domain holding an authorisation code: it arrived as a transfer, not a new registration.
Auto-PayAutomatic payment is switched on for this service, so unpaid invoices are charged to the client's saved card and the service renews itself.
Grace PeriodDomain only. Past due, still renewable at the normal price; the tooltip counts days left before the late fee.
Late RenewalDomain only. The registrar now adds a recovery fee; the tooltip counts days left before the name is lost.
To Be CancelledDomain only. The recovery window closed; the name cannot be recovered and the service is queued for cancellation.

Restore Domain closes the strip. It appears only when the record is a domain, sits inside the recovery window, and the registrar module offers a restore call. Addons may append their own controls.

Alert Cards

Cancellation Request Created appears when the client asks for the service to be dropped: reason, priority (Immediately or End of Period), request date, then three icon buttons (Create Ticket, Delete Cancellation Request, Accept Cancellation Request). After approval the tick becomes a disabled marker naming the approver.

License Transfer in Progress appears on software services with an open transfer: both parties and their verification state, the fee, the party invoiced, the invoice state. Its footer carries Cancel Transfer, plus Resend Verification while a party is unverified and Remind Invoice while the fee invoice is unpaid.

The third card reports a queued module action that has not finished; a failed one prints the provider message with a copy button. Buttons: Run Now or Retry (hidden while the job runs), Task Details and Dismiss.

Tab Strip

Service type, service state and module capabilities decide which entries the strip holds, so two services rarely show the same set; addons can register further tabs after the standard ones.

Service Invoices Window

One window belongs to the page rather than to a tab: Service Invoices, opened by View all invoices in the Billing Details card of the Details tab. It lists every invoice raised for this service, not only the one it was created from, so the first order, later renewals, add-on charges and metered usage sit in the same list. The table is fetched when the window opens.

ColumnWhat it holds
Invoice NoThe number printed on the invoice, or its record number when none was issued.
AmountThe total of the document in its own currency.
CreatedThe date the invoice was raised.
Due DateThe day it is collectable by.
StatusPaid, unpaid, pending, cancelled or refunded.

An unpaid line is drawn on red and one waiting for confirmation on blue, so what needs collecting stands out before you read the status column. The eye button at the end of each row opens that invoice.

Tasks

Answering a cancellation request

  1. Open the service; the Cancellation Request Created card sits at the top of the content box.
  2. To talk to the client first use the ticket icon (Create Ticket); to refuse the request use the bin icon (Delete Cancellation Request).
  3. To grant it, use the tick icon (Accept Cancellation Request) and confirm: the tick turns into a disabled marker naming the approver, open invoice lines stop being collectable, and an Immediately request cancels the service at once.

Rerunning a queued module action

  1. Open the service and read the queue card: it names the action and its state.
  2. Use the document icon (Task Details) for attempts, timestamps and provider responses.
  3. Press Run Now on a waiting entry or Retry on a failed one. On success the card turns green and the page reloads itself; on failure it returns to red with the provider message.

Restoring a domain from the recovery window

  1. Open the domain service; the action exists only while the Late Renewal badge shows.
  2. Press Restore Domain; the window states that the request goes to the registrar and that a recovery fee may apply there.
  3. Confirm with Restore at the bottom of that window. The page reloads; the badge clears only once the registrar reports the domain back and the renewal completes.

Following a license transfer

  1. Open the software service; the License Transfer in Progress card shows both parties with a verification badge.
  2. For an unverified party press Resend Verification in the footer. The window lists both parties with their state, plus Both Parties; pick one and confirm with Send Email at the bottom of the window. For an unpaid fee invoice press Remind Invoice instead.
  3. To stop the transfer press Cancel Transfer in the footer, decide in the window whether both parties are notified, then confirm with Cancel Transfer at the bottom of it: the card disappears, the unpaid fee invoice is cancelled with it, and ownership stays with the current client.

Things to Watch

The queue card talks to the live provider

Run Now and Retry hand the action straight to the module. Dismiss only drops the queue entry: the card goes away and nothing already executed at the provider is undone.

Approving a cancellation stops the billing at once

Both priorities end the billing relationship: open invoice lines are dropped the moment you approve, so a renewal already invoiced can no longer be paid. Immediately also cancels the service on the provider. Neither step is reversible here.

A missing tab is an answer

The set comes from service type, service state and module capabilities: a domain without Email Forwarding means the registrar module does not offer that call, and a cancelled service has no Cancellation tab.

Required Privileges

Opening the page needs SERVICES_LOOK or SERVICES_OPERATION. Every write reachable from this shell (cancellation approval or deletion, domain restore, license transfer actions) needs SERVICES_OPERATION.

The queue card is the exception: its buttons belong to the module queue area under Tools and carry that area's own privilege.
