Task Detail
One task, open for reading and for updating: where the work stands, who carries it and by when.
Opening the Screen
Open Task Planner, then choose View in the row menu of the task: {admin}/tools/tasks/detail?id={task}
What Is on the Screen
The page carries the task's own title at the top. Below it comes the same form the task was opened with, filled in with the saved values.
Fields
Tasks
Update the status
- Pick the new value under Status.
- Write what happened under Status Notes.
- Click Save Changes. The task moves to its new group in the list.
Hand the task over
- Under Assign, choose Department or Staff.
- Pick the new owner from the list that opens, and empty the other list.
- Click Save Changes. The new owner finds the task in their own list.
Things to Watch
Title, description, client and dates are locked for staff without full rights, and the Assign section stays hidden from them. Status and Status Notes are open to everyone who can see the task, with one exception below.
A staff member without full rights who opened the task cannot save it, not even the status. Save Changes answers with a title error, because the locked title field never reaches the save. The same person saves a task opened by someone else without trouble. Until this is fixed, ask a full administrator for the change.
Changing the assignment sends nothing to the new owner. Where they have to hear about it today, tell them yourself; the notification option only exists while a task is created.
Administrators reach all of them. Other staff reach the tasks they opened, the ones assigned to them and the ones on their department. A link to any other task answers with a short Task Not Found line instead of the page.
Required Privileges
Opening the task and saving it both need TOOLS_TASKS. Editing anything beyond the status and the notes is limited to full administrators (ADMIN_CONFIGURE).
