Product Groups

103 Aufrufe Markdown

Product Groups lists every catalogue section you have created outside the built-in Hosting, Server, Software and International SMS groups. Each row shows its product and service counts, status and quick links.

Opening the Screen

Open Product Management in the sidebar and pick Product Groups: {admin}/products/groups

The Create New Product Group button above the list opens the same form used to edit an existing group. It only appears for accounts holding the product group editing privilege.

What Is on the Screen

One table, one row per group you have created. The Title column opens that group's own product list. URL Address opens the live catalogue page for the group in a new tab.

ColumnWhat It Shows
TitleGroup name. Opens the group's own product list.
URL AddressLive catalogue link for the group, opens in a new tab.
ProductsProducts filed in the group. Sortable.
ServicesActive client services sold from it. Sortable.
CreatedDate the group was added. Sortable, newest first by default.
StatusEnabled or Disabled.
ActionsRow menu: View, Edit, Delete.

The row menu's View repeats the Title link, and Edit opens the group's settings form. Only the selection column above the table is limited to accounts holding the product group editing privilege; the Apply to Selected list itself is always visible, though without ticked rows its Delete option has nothing to remove.

Fields

Apply to SelectedEmpty by default. Its only option is Delete, which removes every ticked row.

Tasks

Opening a Group's Product List

  1. Click the group's name in the Title column.
  2. The product list for that group opens, showing every product filed in it.

Editing a Group

  1. Open the row's action menu and choose Edit.
  2. Change any field on the settings form and press Save Changes.
  3. The form stays open with the new values in place.

Deleting Groups

  1. Tick the groups to remove, or open a single row's action menu and choose Delete.
  2. For a selection, choose Delete from Apply to Selected and confirm. Removing more than one group at once also asks for your account password.
  3. The rows disappear from the list.

Things to Watch

Deleting a group takes its products with it

Deleting a group permanently removes every product filed directly under it, prices and descriptions included. Client services already sold keep running, but the catalogue entry behind them is gone. None of the group's categories can be reached anymore either.

This list is only your custom groups

Hosting, Server, Software and International SMS are fixed groups with their own Settings screens under Products. They never appear here, and nothing you do on this screen changes them.

Required Privileges

Opening this screen needs either View (PRODUCTS_GROUP_LOOK) or Edit (PRODUCTS_GROUP_OPERATION) on product groups. Creating, editing and deleting a group all need Edit (PRODUCTS_GROUP_OPERATION).
