DigitalOcean Module

Connect DigitalOcean to import Droplet plans, automate instance and optional-resource delivery, and expose supported power, image, backup, firewall, DNS and volume controls through WISECP.

Reaching the Screen

Go to Products → Hosting Server → DigitalOcean: {admin}/digitalocean

Activate the Module Menu

1. Open Products → Hosting Server and click Add New Server below the page title. On a narrow screen, first open Show Options to reach this button.
2. Under Server Automation Module, choose the Virtualization category and then select DigitalOcean.
3. Under Connection Details, enter digitalocean.com in Address, root in Username, and your DigitalOcean API token in API Token.
4. Click Test Connection. After the test succeeds, check the server name and required capacity fields, then click Add New Server at the bottom of the page.
5. The record is created as active. The Products → Hosting Server → DigitalOcean menu now appears and {admin}/digitalocean becomes available.

What the Module Does

Catalogue and product control

The plan table combines size resources, transfer allowance, regional availability and provider cost with the WISECP product. The public name, automatic/fixed region, category, monthly USD sale price and status are editable. Import creates missing plans inactive, updates stored costs without changing existing sale prices, resets unavailable pinned regions to automatic and rebuilds upgrade relationships.

Customer service tools

Customers can start, stop or restart a Droplet, rebuild it from a supported distribution, create/restore/delete snapshots and restore automated backups. Network tools manage an allow-list cloud firewall, reserved addresses and reverse DNS; DigitalOcean implements PTR behavior through the Droplet name, so the name must be a valid fully qualified domain name for that use. Storage tools manage purchased volumes. DigitalOcean exposes no API-accessible web console and no per-Droplet transfer-consumption metric, so the service page shows the static plan allowance rather than a bandwidth gauge.

Automation and lifecycle

Product generation synchronizes distribution images, creates hostname, user-data and SSH-key requirements, attaches enabled add-ons and wires upgrades. Automated backup, volume, snapshot quota and reserved-IP lifecycle are bound to the Droplet service. The provider Droplet ID drives later actions and cancellation cleanup of the instance and module-managed billable child resources.

Before You Configure It

1. Create a DigitalOcean personal access token for the team/project that will own Droplets, firewalls, volumes, snapshots and reserved IPs. It must be able to perform the operations you enable.
2. Enable the DigitalOcean server module and create an active server record that stores the token.
3. Create and enable USD in WISECP; size costs and generated product/add-on prices use USD.
4. Confirm the module license and DigitalOcean limits for Droplets, volumes, snapshots and reserved IPs before a controlled live-resource test.

Installation and Operation

Prepare the access token

1. Create a dedicated token in the DigitalOcean team that should own WISECP resources.
2. Ensure its permissions cover Droplets and each enabled firewall, volume, snapshot, backup and reserved-IP action.
3. Store the token privately and define a rotation process; customers never need the provider credential.

Connect and test the module

1. On the module page, click the gear-shaped Settings button in the top action bar directly below the page title; on a narrow screen, reveal this bar with Show Options first. In the Module Settings window, enter the token and set margin, cost sync, stock visibility, checkout add-ons and customer features.
2. Use Test Connection directly below the credential field. It can test the typed token before save and remains available while diagnosing an unlicensed setup.
3. After success, click Save Settings in the window footer. The live size/region catalogue becomes available.

Import and reconcile sizes

1. In the top action bar below the page title, click the cloud-download Import from API button. In the window, select new plans, cost updates or region import.
2. After selecting at least one option, click Start Import in the window footer. Missing sizes are created inactive with margin-based prices; cost-only updates preserve current sale prices.
3. Review the result: unavailable fixed regions return to automatic, distribution choices synchronize for new products and upgrade paths are rebuilt.

Review regions, plans and prices

1. Verify vCPU, memory, disk, transfer allowance, regional availability and USD cost; choose public name, category and region policy.
2. Set the monthly USD sale price and leave the product inactive until the full test lifecycle passes.
3. Save rows. If bulk repricing is required, enter the rate in Profit Rate (%) on the right side of the top action bar and click Update Prices; this recalculates all plan and generated add-on sale prices.

Configure requirements and paid resources

1. Review generated operating-system, hostname, user-data and SSH-key requirements and keep only images suitable for customers.
2. Enable and price the backup, block-storage, snapshot and reserved-IP options you intend to sell; set capacity/quota where the option supports it.
3. Confirm generated add-ons are attached to the intended products and match DigitalOcean account limits.

Verify with an inactive test product

1. Create a controlled service from an inactive size in a supported region; include the optional resources that need verification.
2. Provision and confirm Droplet ID/IP; test power, rebuild, snapshots/backups, firewall, FQDN-based reverse DNS, reserved IP and volumes. Do not expect a WISECP console or bandwidth-use gauge.
3. Cancel from WISECP and confirm the Droplet and all module-managed paid resources are gone before activating the product.

Maintain catalogue and provider limits

1. Import after size, region or cost changes; use cost synchronization when manual sale prices must remain unchanged.
2. Review automatic-region fallbacks, hidden availability and add-on quotas after provider catalogue changes.
3. Periodically test provision/cancel and token rotation so cleanup and customer tools remain reliable.

Product Operations (PRODUCTS_OPERATION) is required for configuration, import and pricing. Customer tools are limited by module features and purchased add-ons.
