Privilege Groups
Every privilege group in the system, the staff who hold each one, and the actions to create, edit or delete a group.
Opening the Screen
Choose Staff and Admins › Privileges from the menu, or open {admin}/privileges directly.
What Is on the Screen
The screen is a single list, one row per group, with the button to create a new one above it.
The list
Each row carries the group's name, the staff members who currently hold it, and a menu with Edit and Delete. A group that holds every permission in the system carries a Fully Authorized badge. The built-in Root Authority group carries its own badge and no menu at all. It cannot be edited or deleted from this screen. Use the search box above the list to narrow it by name. The download button next to it exports the full list.
Tasks
Find a group
- Type part of the group's name into the search box above the list.
- The list narrows as you type.
Delete a group
- Open the row's menu and choose Delete.
- Confirm in the window that opens. It names the group you are about to remove.
- The list refreshes and the group is gone.
Things to Watch
The confirmation window only names the group. It does not warn you if staff are still assigned to it. A staff member left without a group keeps no privileges anywhere in the panel until you assign a new one. Check the Assigned column first.
The group carrying the Root Authority badge has no Edit or Delete entry in its row menu, and deleting it is blocked everywhere. Its name and permissions can still be changed by opening its edit page directly; the only rule the system enforces there is that the permission managing privilege groups stays selected.
Required Privileges
The whole screen, viewing the list, creating, editing and deleting a group, runs on a single permission: ADMIN_PRIVILEGES. There is no separate view-only permission for this area. Downloading the list also needs TABLE_EXPORT.
