Client Activity Logs
Trace client and staff actions with the actor, time, IP address, and changed values to determine who did what with an auditable record.
Opening the Screen
Open a client and choose the Activity Logs tab: {admin}/users/detail?id={client}&tab=activity-logs
What Is on the Screen
Who appears here
The list carries two sources together: what the client did themselves, and what staff did to this client's record. An administrator changing the client's group appears here too - deliberately, because the screen answers "what happened to this account".
What the client sees in their own panel is narrower: only their own actions, never staff work.
Tasks
Find out who changed something
- Find the row that describes the change in the description column.
- The user column says who did it; a staff member's name links to their record.
- Open the row detail; the old and new value of the changed field are there.
Trace an address
- Use the lookup button on the IP column.
- The other records from the same address are listed - this is how you see whether an account is being shared.
Things to Watch
The panel includes staff actions; the client does not see them in their own panel. If a record is here and the client says they did no such thing, look at the user column - the action was most likely taken by staff.
Activity records are cleared automatically according to the installation's retention period. Where a long history is needed, check that period on the Automation screen.
These rows are an audit trail; they cannot be changed or removed from the panel. Where a record looks wrong, read the raw data in the row detail.
Required Privileges
The tab opens with the client record. The links in the user column depend on privileges: reaching a client record needs client access and reaching a staff record needs staff access; without them the name is shown without a link.
