Product Automation

93 Aufrufe Markdown

Product Automation is where you assign the module that provisions a product, choose its server, and set setup and resource behavior.

Opening the Screen

Open a product from Editing a Product and click the Automation tab.

Direct address: {admin}/products/edit?id={product}&configuration=automation

What Is on the Screen

Module Assignment sits at the top. For module types with their own settings page, a gear icon next to it opens that page in a new tab.

If a module is assigned and the type is Hosting or Server, a Server Configuration card lets you pick a single server or a server group.

A Module Configuration card loads that module's own settings once you pick it. Its fields vary by module.

Once a module is assigned, a General Settings card appears with Automatic Setup and Restrict Access.

For Hosting products, unless the module turns them off, a Resource Limits card lists Disk Space, Bandwidth, Email Accounts, Databases, Addon Domains, Subdomains, FTP Accounts, Parked Domains, and Hourly Email Limit, each with its own Unlimited checkbox.

For Server products, a Server Features card holds free-text Processor, RAM, Disk Space, Bandwidth, and RAID fields.

Fields

Module and Server

Module AssignmentThe module that provisions this product, or None to manage the service by hand.
Server SelectionSingle Server or Server Group, for Hosting and Server products.
Single ServerOne server running the assigned module.
Server GroupA group of servers; one is picked automatically for each new service.

Setup Behavior

Automatic SetupCreates the account on the server automatically once payment is complete. Off leaves the service pending for manual activation.
Restrict AccessHides the one-click panel sign-in and panel login details from the client on the service's detail page.

Tasks

Assign a Module

Pick a module from Module Assignment. For Hosting or Server, also pick Single Server or Server Group and the server or group itself.

Result: Module Configuration loads that module's own fields. Save the page to apply everything. If the product previously had no module, picking one for the first time also turns on Automatic Setup. This does not happen if you have already changed that checkbox yourself after opening the page.

Open a Module's Own Settings

Click the gear icon next to Module Assignment.

Result: that module's settings page opens in a new tab, separate from this product.

Things to Watch

Automatic Setup Off Means Manual Activation

Services stay pending until an admin completes activation by hand.

Cards Depend on a Module Being Assigned

General Settings, Module Configuration, and Server Configuration only appear once you pick a module. Picking None hides them again.

Resource Limits and Server Features Are Type-Specific

Resource Limits shows only for Hosting products whose module allows it. Server Features shows only for Server products.

Required Privileges
