Advanced Theme Settings
Turn on maintenance mode, control detail-page sidebars, and set the admin panel's font and pricing display, all from one form.
Opening the Screen
Choose Settings › Theme/Customization from the menu, then open the Advanced tab: {admin}/settings/theme?group=advanced
What Is on the Screen
A single settings form. Each item is an on/off switch or one field, and a single Save Changes button at the bottom applies every change together; saving shows a confirmation message without leaving the tab.
Fields
Tasks
Turn on maintenance mode
- Switch Maintenance Mode on. A confirmation dialog opens explaining what visitors and clients will and will not be able to do.
- Tick I am aware of and understand all of this, then click OK.
- Click Save Changes. Guests and clients now see the maintenance page; you keep seeing the site normally while signed in as an admin.
Change the admin panel font
- Open the Admin Panel Font list and pick a font.
- The panel's font changes right away, as a preview.
- Click Save Changes to keep it. The new font applies for every admin user, not only you.
Things to Watch
While it is on, visitors and clients cannot browse the storefront or the client area. Payment gateway callbacks, the API and the billing cron jobs are exempt and keep running, so charges already in flight or scheduled still go through.
Turning it on sends anyone opening your home address straight to sign-in - or to their dashboard if already signed in - instead of a marketing page. In themes that support it, it also removes the client panel's link back to the public site. It also drops content pages - news, articles and references - from your site's sitemap.xml.
Page, news, article and knowledge base detail pages each have their own sidebar switch. Turning one off leaves more width for that page type's content.
Required Privileges
Opening the screen and saving these settings need SETTINGS_THEME_CONFIGURE.
