Software License Alerts
This screen collects unlicensed-installation alerts and unauthorized-use reports for your software products in one place.
Opening the Screen
Go to Products > Software > License Alerts. This item only appears once the Software product group is turned on.
Direct address: {admin}/products/license-errors
What Is on the Screen
The page title reads License Alerts. If you can edit products, a Clear Logs button appears next to it. A download button at the right end of the table header saves the list as CSV, JSON, or XML; it only appears for staff holding the table export privilege.
Each row is either an automatic detection or a public report. An automatic detection is a copy of your software that checked in without a valid license. A public report is something a visitor submitted about unauthorized use. A small badge tells the two apart.
The Domain / IP column shows the reported address plus, when known, the installed and referrer web addresses. Software shows the product name when it is known: automatic detections carry it, public reports usually don't. Details shows the install folder for a detection, or the reporter's email and message for a report. A long message is shortened, with a View Full link to read it in full. Server / Client IP lists both addresses, and Date shows when the alert was recorded. The row menu offers Evidence (only when a report includes an uploaded file) and Delete.
Fields
Tasks
Review an Alert
Read the Domain / IP, Software, and Details columns for context. If a report's message is long, click View Full to read it in full inside a dialog.
Download Reported Evidence
Open the row menu and click Evidence. This only appears when the reporter attached a file, and it opens in a new tab.
Delete a Single Alert
Open the row menu and click Delete, then confirm. Any evidence file attached to that alert is removed with it.
Clear All Alerts
Click Clear Logs above the table, type your account password, and confirm. Every alert and its evidence files are deleted at once.
Things to Watch
Clear Logs removes every alert and every uploaded evidence file at once, with no way to bring them back. Deleting a single alert from the row menu is final too, but only affects that one record.
The menu item shows a count of new alerts. Opening this screen marks them read and clears that count, even before you delete anything.
