Blog Categories
Group your blog articles under categories, and keep every category's name, address and visibility in one list.
Reaching the Screen
Panel menu: Site Management, Blog, then the Categories button: {admin}/manage-website/blogs/categories.
Create Category opens an empty form at {admin}/manage-website/blogs/add-category. Edit in a row menu opens a filled one at {admin}/manage-website/blogs/edit-category?id={category}.
What Is on the Screen
Only blog categories are listed here. Reference categories have their own screen.
On a narrow screen the toolbar is folded away behind Show Options.

Tasks
Creating a Category
- Click the Create Category button.
- Enter the name for each language; the address comes from the name. To change it, click the pencil button next to the address, then save the form.
- The category joins the list as the first row.
Editing a Category
- Open the menu at the end of the row and choose Edit.
- Change what you need, then save the form.
- A confirmation appears and you stay on the form. The new name and status show when you go back to the list.
Deleting Categories
- For one category, choose Delete in its row menu.
- For several, tick the rows and pick Delete under Apply to Selected.
- Deleting several rows asks for your admin password first.
- Confirm with the Delete button in the window. The rows leave the list at once.
Things to Watch
The confirmation window is the only warning. The category's background image goes with it.
Deleting a category never deletes its articles. They stay on your site with no category, so pick one for them again.
The blog lists a category once it is Enabled and holds at least one visible article. Check both when one is missing.
Required Privileges
The screen, the create form and the edit form all need MANAGE_WEBSITE_OPERATION.
Deleting needs MANAGE_WEBSITE_DELETE. Without it the tick boxes and the Delete entry in the row menu are gone. The Apply to Selected box stays, but with no row to tick it does nothing.
Downloading also needs TABLE_EXPORT.
