Adding a Support Department

103 Aufrufe Markdown

Separate ticket topics into translated departments and assign the right staff so clients choose the appropriate support area and the queue reaches the responsible team.

Reaching the Screen

From Departments, choose Create Department: {admin}/departments/add

Opening Edit from a department row uses the same form with that department's values.

What Is on the Screen

The language tabs hold the translated name and description. Staff assignment, sequence and icon are shared structural settings for the department.

Fields

Department NameRequired in every installed language.
DescriptionTranslated guidance describing the department's responsibility.
Assigned Staff MembersThe administrators associated with this department.
SequenceControls the department order in lists and selectors.
IconUses a font icon or an uploaded image. Replacing or removing an uploaded image also updates the stored department icon.
Existing DepartmentSet automatically while editing.

Tasks

Create a department

  1. Enter the department name and description in every language.
  2. Select the assigned staff, set its sequence and choose a font or image icon.
  3. Create the department. The panel returns to the department list and the new route becomes available to ticket settings.

Change the department icon

  1. Open the department for editing and choose the icon type.
  2. Select a font icon or upload an allowed image.
  3. Save. The new icon replaces the previous one; removing an uploaded icon resets the department to the font-icon type.

Department membership is shown on the list and can be used when presenting staff identity around tickets. Email Piping and ticket custom fields also select departments by this same record.
