Namecheap SSL

Connect your Namecheap account to sell its SSL certificates with automatic ordering and margin-based prices.

Accessing the Screen

Go to Products → Product Group Modules, open All Modules and click the Namecheap SSL card. Address: {admin}/modules/product?module=NamecheapSSL.

Screen Overview

SettingsAPI credentials, the whitelisted IP, the sandbox switch and the connection test.
CatalogCreates products from the Namecheap certificate catalog and keeps their prices current.
ImportLists the certificates in your Namecheap account and links one to a client as a service.

Before You Start

Enable API access in your Namecheap account under Profile → Tools → API Access. Add the IP address of your WISECP server to the whitelist there. Certificate orders are charged to that account. Sandbox and production are separate Namecheap accounts with their own keys.

Settings Fields

API UserRequired. Your Namecheap API user name.
API KeyRequired. Saved encrypted and shown masked. Leave it blank to keep the saved key.
Whitelisted IPOptional. The server IP you whitelisted at Namecheap. Leave it blank to detect it automatically.
Sandbox ModeOn by default. Requests go to the Namecheap sandbox. Turn it off for a production account.

Tasks

Connecting the Account

  1. On the Settings tab, enter API User, API Key and, if needed, Whitelisted IP. Set Sandbox Mode for that account.
  2. Click Test Connection. It checks the values in the form against the selected environment, without saving them.
  3. Click Save Changes below the form. A confirmation message appears.

Importing the Catalog

  1. Open the Catalog tab and enter Profit Margin (%). The default is 30.
  2. Click Import Catalog. The message counts the products created and those that already existed.
  3. The table lists every certificate with its cost and sale price. Rows not yet imported are marked Not imported.

The import creates the SSL Certificates category with DV, OV and EV subcategories. It also adds the order requirements, such as the CSR code and validation method. Certificates with SAN pricing get an Additional SANs add-on. Running it again only adds what is missing.

Keeping Prices Current

Click Sync Prices to reread the costs and reapply the margin to imported products and SAN add-ons. Turn on Automatic Price Update to repeat this every day through scheduled tasks.

Importing an Existing Certificate

  1. Open the Import tab. It requires at least one product that uses this module.
  2. Find the certificate by Certificate ID or domain, then click Import on its row.
  3. In the window, choose Client, Product and Billing Cycle, and check Issued At and Expires At.
  4. Click Import at the bottom of the window. The certificate becomes a service of that client.

Products and the Client Area

Each product sells one certificate. On the product's Automation tab, Module Configuration holds Namecheap Certificate and Included SANs. Imported products have Automatic Setup on, so a paid order is placed at Namecheap without approval.

In the client area, the customer can reissue the certificate, resend or change domain validation, add or remove SANs and download the certificate. On the service page, ID links the service to its Namecheap certificate.

Important Notes

Live Orders Are Billed

With Sandbox Mode off, every paid order buys a certificate from your Namecheap balance. Imported products are active and visible at once, so import into a production account when prices are ready.

Prices and Currency

Namecheap costs and sale prices are saved in USD and converted for customers with your exchange rates. If WISECP has no USD currency, the amounts are saved in your default currency without conversion.

Suspension

Suspending a service changes its status in WISECP only. The certificate stays valid at Namecheap.

Required Permissions

Requires PRODUCTS_API to open and configure the module.
