Bulk Notification Detail

Open a saved draft or a booked task, change what it says or who it reaches, and save it back.

Opening the Screen

Bulk Notifications, Drafts tab, then the draft name or Edit in its three-dot menu: {admin}/tools/bulk-notification/detail?id={draft}

On the Scheduled Tasks tab the task name opens the same screen, carrying the task's own copy.

What Is on the Screen

The same form you used to create the draft, with every choice filled in. The heading reads Edit Draft, for a booked task as well.

The four cards General Information, the criteria card, Service Criteria and the content card, all as you left them.
Selected Criteria The right column counts the recipients again from today's data, so the figure can differ from last time.
Send Now and Save Draft Save Draft opens after your first change. Send Now works here too.

Fields

Every field behaves as it does on the create form. These are the ones worth a second look on a saved record.

The record behind the address The number in the address decides which record you are editing. Saving writes over that record.
Draft Name Still required. On a task this is the Task Name in the list.
Type Switching between Email and SMS swaps the body box for an empty one.
Newsletter Subscribed Users Comes back on the saved choice. Switching to a language closes the criteria cards again.
Recipient Type Changing it swaps the criteria card. The hidden card stops counting, and saving clears its choices.
The criteria Client Groups, Countries, Languages, Account Status, Non-purchasing, Birthday Marketing and Departments all come back ticked.
Service Criteria Service Status, Products, Servers and Addons come back selected. A deleted product drops out of the list.
BCC Keeps the addresses you typed before.
Subject Still required for e-mail.
The body Opens in the editor for e-mail, in the plain box for SMS. An empty body is refused.
Delivery Comes back on the saved mode. A newsletter list still forces Batch.

Tasks

Change a draft

  1. Open the draft by its name in the Drafts list.
  2. Change the text or the criteria, and watch the recipient count settle.
  3. Click the Save Draft button. The record is written over, and nothing is sent.

Change what a booked task sends

  1. Open the task by its name in the Scheduled Tasks list.
  2. Change the subject, the body or the criteria.
  3. Click the Save Draft button. The task keeps its date and its status, so a paused task stays Paused.

Send a saved draft right away

  1. Open the draft and check the count in Number of Notification Recipients.
  2. Click the Send Now button and read the summary window.
  3. Confirm it. Sending does not change the record, so the draft stays as it is.

Things to Watch

Saving writes over the old version

There is no history and no earlier copy to go back to. On a message you send often, copy the old text somewhere before you rewrite it.

Changing the type empties the body

An e-mail draft turned into an SMS opens with an empty SMS box, and the old text is not carried across. Write the new body before saving, or the save is refused.

This screen does not hold the schedule

Editing a task here changes what it sends, never when. Change the date and the period from Edit in the task row menu on the Scheduled Tasks tab.

Required Privileges

Opening the record, saving it and sending it need TOOLS_BULK_MAIL or TOOLS_BULK_SMS.
