Addon Management Area
Open the working screen an add-on brings into the panel, and use its own features without leaving your administration area.
Opening the Screen
Open the Tools menu. Under Addons every add-on that carries a management area is listed by its own name. Select the one you want.
The add-on name in the breadcrumb of the settings screen leads to the same place.
{admin}/tools/addons/{addon}
What Is on the Screen
This screen belongs to the add-on, so what you see depends on which add-on you opened. A live chat add-on brings its conversations here, an assistant add-on its own controls, a verification add-on its applications.
The panel supplies only the frame. At the top are the page title the add-on chose, any buttons it placed beside that title and the breadcrumb trail. Some paid add-ons may show a licence mark next to the title. Everything below belongs to the add-on.
Two cases end the screen early. An administrator whose privilege group is not allowed is sent back to the add-on list. An add-on that supplies no content leaves a warning in its place. What happens with a disabled add-on is the add-on's own decision: most still open their working screen normally, some state that they are switched off instead of showing content.
Tasks
Open the management area
- Open the Tools menu.
- Click the add-on name listed under Addons.
- The working screen of the add-on opens.
When the add-on is missing from the menu
- Go to Tools and Addons, find the card and check that it carries the Enabled mark.
- Open Settings from its actions menu and tick your own privilege group under Access Control.
- Save the form. The add-on returns to the menu and its management area opens.
Things to Watch
This is where you work with the add-on. Connection details, licence keys and behaviour options live on its settings screen instead.
Some add-ons still show their working screen while switched off, others state that they are switched off instead of showing content; that is the add-on's own choice. Disappearing from the menu is a separate rule: a disabled add-on drops out of Tools and Addons, yet its area still opens from the breadcrumb of the settings screen or straight from the address.
Only groups ticked under Access Control may open the area. Full Administrator always can, everyone else returns to the add-on list.
Required Privileges
Reaching this screen needs TOOLS_ADDONS. On top of that, your privilege group has to be selected under Access Control in the settings of the add-on.
