Addon Settings

95 vues Markdown

Configure one add-on: switch it on or off, decide which administrators may open it, fill in its own settings and remove it when you no longer need it.

Opening the Screen

Go to Tools, then Addons, and select Settings from the actions menu of a card. That entry is there only on free cards; on a paid add-on, click its name in the card heading instead. The name link opens the same screen on every card.

{admin}/tools/addons/settings?module={addon}

What Is on the Screen

Back to Addons at the top returns you to the list. Under it sits the identity of the add-on: logo, name, version, a Premium mark for paid ones and the developer name.

On the right are the buttons that act on the whole add-on. Delete is always there. Test Connection appears only for add-ons that talk to an outside service. Manage appears only while the add-on is enabled and has a screen of its own; clicking it takes you there.

The rest of the screen belongs to the add-on itself, so it differs from one add-on to the next. Most use the standard layout: a General Settings tab holding Status, Access Control and the add-on's own settings, with a save button at the end. Some bring extra tabs or a page of their own. When an add-on offers no settings at all, a warning takes their place; that warning is written in English whatever your panel language is.

Fields

StatusThe Enable box switches the add-on on and off. It reflects the state shown on the card in the list.
Access ControlThe administrator privilege groups that may open the management area of the add-on. Full Administrator always has access.
The add-on's own settingsAPI keys, addresses, behaviour options and anything else the add-on needs. Which ones are required is stated on the field itself.
Type DELETE hereThe deletion window asks you to write DELETE. The delete button stays closed until the word matches.

Tasks

Save the settings

  1. Fill in the fields of the add-on.
  2. Select the privilege groups under Access Control.
  3. Click the save button at the end of the form. The new values apply right away.

Give an administrator access

  1. Tick the group of that administrator under Access Control.
  2. Save the form.
  3. The add-on now appears for that group under Tools and Addons, and its management area opens.

Test the connection

  1. Enter the provider details and save the form first.
  2. Click the Test Connection button at the top right.
  3. The button reports Connection Successful or Connection Failed, and a failure carries the reason with it.

Delete the add-on

  1. Click the Delete button at the top right.
  2. Write DELETE in the confirmation box.
  3. Click Delete Permanently. The add-on is removed and you return to the list.

Things to Watch

An empty Access Control closes the door

With no group ticked, only Full Administrator reaches the management area of the add-on. Other administrators are sent back to the list, and the add-on stays out of their menu.

Deletion cannot be undone

Deleting removes the add-on files, its settings and its database tables. To stop it for a while, clear the Enable box instead.

Required Privileges

This screen and all of its actions need TOOLS_ADDONS. Saving, testing the connection and deleting use that same privilege.
