Product Requirement Configuration

Choose which information fields customers must fill in when ordering this product.

Opening the Screen

Panel menu: Products. Open the product's group, then click its name (or the row menu's Edit action): {admin}/products/edit?id={product}

In the tab strip, click Requirements. A direct link opens it already selected: {admin}/products/edit?id={product}&configuration=requirements

What Is on the Screen

An info box explains the step, then one card per requirement category.

Category card Groups the requirements made for this product's group. A card only appears if it has at least one requirement.
Requirement row Name, description and a checkbox. An arrow icon next to the name opens that requirement's own screen in a new tab.
No requirements yet Shows instead of the cards when this product's group has no requirement set up.

Below the list, Create New Product Requirement opens a blank requirement for this same group.

Fields

Requirements Tick each field customers must fill in for this product. Saved as one list with the rest of the screen.
Category checkbox Ticks or clears every requirement in that card at once. Shows a dash when only some are picked.

Tasks

Turn requirements on or off

  1. Open the Requirements tab.
  2. Tick the fields this product should ask for, or untick to drop one. A category's own checkbox picks or clears all of them together.
  3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. It saves every tab on this screen together.

Create a new requirement

  1. Click Create New Product Requirement below the list.
  2. Fill in and save the new requirement, then come back to this product to tick it.

Things to Watch

Creating a new requirement leaves this page

Create New Product Requirement opens in the same tab, unlike the arrow icon on an existing requirement. Save this product first if you have unsaved changes on another tab.

Only this group's requirements show here

A requirement is built for one product group. Requirements made for other groups never appear on this list, so an empty screen can be normal.

A Group change swaps this list, but not what gets saved

The Product Group field on the Detail tab is live. Switching it replaces these cards with the new group's requirements right away, but does not update what actually gets saved. If you click Save Changes without ticking anything here, the product can keep the previous group's requirement selection instead. That may not match what the cards now show. After changing Group, re-tick the requirements you want here, or save the Group change alone first and reopen this tab.

Ticking a requirement does not change its rules

Whether it is optional or required and what it asks for live on the requirement's own screen. This tab only turns it on or off for this product.

Required Privileges

Opening this screen needs PRODUCTS_LOOK or PRODUCTS_OPERATION. Saving changes needs PRODUCTS_OPERATION.
