Set the title, keywords, and description search engines show for your site. The same screen holds your sitemap address and the robots.txt file crawlers are handed.

Opening the Screen

Open Settings › General, then choose the SEO tab: {admin}/settings?general=seo

What Is on the Screen

One language strip sits above the form and controls the text fields below it. It opens with your primary language plus any language that already has SEO text, and a + lets you open others; switch it to edit that language's text.

Below the text fields is the Search Engines and Crawlers section. You do not write robots.txt line by line there: you answer questions and the file is produced for you. Some of it is not yours to remove: the sitemap address, the llms.txt addresses, and the pages that belong to one customer.

Fields

SEO TitleThe title shown in search results and on the browser tab. Leave it empty to use the site name.
Sub Page Title LayoutThe layout of titles on subpages, built from the variables {page_title} and {home_title}.
SEO KeywordsKeywords for your site, separated by commas.
SEO DescriptionThe summary shown under the title in search results. Between 150 and 160 characters works best.
Sitemap URLYour site's automatically generated sitemap address. It cannot be edited; click it to copy the link.
Manage robots.txtWhile this is on, crawlers are given the file produced from the answers here. Turn it off and whatever robots.txt sits on your server applies instead.
Appear in Search EnginesOpen lets your public pages be listed; closed keeps the whole site out of search results.
Use by AI ModelsWhen blocked, the known crawlers that collect text for language models are each refused in the file. The list ships with the product; you do not maintain it.
Blocked CrawlersCrawlers you want to keep out by name. Separate them with commas or line breaks.
Seconds Between RequestsAsks crawlers to wait this long between two requests. Leave it empty unless crawlers are straining your server.
Additional LinesUnder Advanced. Written at the end of the file exactly as you type it. Only use this if you already know the robots.txt syntax.

Tasks

Update your SEO text

  1. Open Settings › General › SEO.
  2. Pick the language you're editing from the strip at the top, opening it with + if it isn't shown yet.
  3. Fill in the Title, Sub Page Title Layout, Keywords, and Description.
  4. Click Save. Search engines pick up the change the next time they crawl your site.

Block AI crawlers

  1. Open Settings › General › SEO and scroll to Search Engines and Crawlers.
  2. In the Use by AI Models card, choose Blocked.
  3. Check the finished file in the Preview at the bottom of the section.
  4. Click Save.
  1. In Search Engines and Crawlers, choose Closed to Search Engines.
  2. Click Save, then read and accept the confirmation that appears.
  3. When your site is ready to launch, come back and switch it to Open to Search Engines.

Things to Watch

A robots.txt on your server overrides this screen

If a robots.txt file sits in your server's root directory, crawlers are handed that file and none of these settings apply. The screen says so in a red band and lets you remove the file. A copy is kept before it goes.

Reopening to search engines takes weeks

Choosing closed asks search engines to drop your site from their results. Coming back after you reopen it usually takes weeks, which is why this choice asks for a separate confirmation before it saves.

Blocking AI does not remove you from search

Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended in that list only opt you out of model training; they do not affect search results. Your llms.txt documentation also stays published. The setting tells crawlers what not to do; it cannot stop a model that already has the address.

Your management folder cannot go into the file

robots.txt is a public file. Writing your management folder's name into Additional Lines or Blocked Crawlers is refused. Naming it there does not protect the folder; it announces it to every crawler on the internet.

The language strip controls the text fields only

Switching the strip at the top changes the Title, Suffix, Keywords, Description, and Sitemap URL together. Search Engines and Crawlers is not language-specific; the protected page addresses are already written for every language.

Sitemap URL is view-only

It shows the address your sitemap is already served at; there's nothing to type or save there.

Required Privileges

Opening Settings › General needs SETTINGS_INFORMATIONS_CONFIGURE. Viewing and saving the SEO tab additionally needs SETTINGS_SEO_CONFIGURE.
