SMS Logs

91 vues Markdown

Check every SMS the system handed to the SMS module, and read the exact text that went to a number without asking the client to read it out.

Opening the Screen

Open {admin}/tools/sms-logs from the Tools menu.

What Is on the Screen

One table, newest record first, with a search box above it. The search covers the sender title and the numbers. The download button beside the search box exports the filtered list as CSV, JSON or XML.

Sender ID The sender title the message went out under, as agreed with your SMS provider.
Numbers Who received it. With more than one number the first appears followed by a counter for the rest.
Date When the message left the system.
IP Address The address the request came from. The lookup button beside it finds the other records from the same address.
Preview The eye button at the end of a row opens the message.

Preview window

The SMS Preview window shows the sender title, the numbers and the send time at the top. Under Message Content the text appears as it was sent, with its line breaks kept.

Fields

These two belong to the Clear Logs dialog, opened by the red button next to the page title. Both are required.

Select Date The cut-off. Every SMS record from before this date goes, while that day's own records stay. No default: pick a date each time.
Enter your account password for security verification. Your own panel password, confirming the deletion came from you.

Tasks

Find the messages sent to a number

  1. Type the number in the search box. A leading plus sign makes no difference, so paste it either way.
  2. Read the Date column to see when each message went out.

Read a message a client received

  1. Find the row by number and date.
  2. Click the eye button. The text opens in the preview window with its sender title and time.

Clear old records

  1. Click the Clear Logs button.
  2. Pick a cut-off date and type your account password.
  3. Click Confirm. The matching records go and the page reloads with the shorter list.

Things to Watch

Nothing removes these records but you

SMS records have no retention period and stay until you clear them or delete the client they belong to. On a busy installation the table grows without limit, so clear it on a routine you choose. Deletion cannot be undone, and the same records feed the client's own Messages list and the international SMS reports: what you clear here disappears from those as well.

Verification messages have no body

One-time codes, two-factor messages and password-reset texts record the send event, the sender title and the number, but their body is replaced by a short notice. Anyone reading the log must not be able to reuse a code that was meant for one phone.

A row is a hand-off, not a delivery receipt

The record is written once the SMS module accepts the message. Whether the operator delivered it to the handset is answered by your provider's own reports, not here.

Required Privileges

The preview and the Clear Logs dialog both need TOOLS_ACTIONS. The download button beside the search box follows the panel-wide TABLE_EXPORT; an account without that privilege never sees the button.
