The Admin Dashboard
The first screen after signing in: the day's figures, the queues waiting for you and the panels you choose to keep in front of you.
Opening the Screen
The dashboard is the panel's home page. It opens right after you sign in, and the logo at the top left brings you back to it from anywhere. Its address is the admin directory itself, {admin}/.
What Is on the Screen
The page is built from three layers, top to bottom.
Figures
Each figure is a single reading with its comparison underneath, so a number is always read against something: this month against the previous one, or a daily average against a month-end forecast.
The information mark beside each label says what that figure counts: which records, which period. Two figures can both be correct and still differ, because they count different things.
Each figure is also a link: click it to open the list it counts. On a narrow screen, tap the icon at the top right of a card to show its detail rows. Tapping the icon again, or anywhere outside the card, hides them. On a wide screen the same rows appear when the pointer rests on the card.
A figure is only drawn when your privilege group allows it, and the two money figures are also tied to the installation: with the invoice system turned off, income and cash are not drawn at all. The same applies to tickets when the support system is off.
Widgets
Tasks
Choose which widgets are shown
- Open the widget menu at the top right of the dashboard.
- Turn the panels you do not use off. A widget your privilege group does not allow is not listed at all.
- The choice is saved for your own account; other staff keep their own layout.
Reorder the widgets
- Switch on reordering from the same menu. Drag handles appear on the panels.
- Drag a panel to where you want it; the ones around it move out of the way.
- The new order is saved as soon as you drop the panel, and it is yours alone.
Pin the menu entries you use most
- Hover over a sub-entry in the left menu; a pin appears at the end of the row.
- Click the pin. A shortcut appears in the Pinned group at the top of the menu, and the entry also stays in its own place.
- Drag the shortcuts to order them; the new order is saved as soon as you drop one.
- Click the filled pin again to remove it. You can pin up to 20 entries.
Reopen the setup guide
- Open the dashboard with {admin}/?setup=open.
- The setup window comes back even if you dismissed it earlier, as long as your privileges allow configuration.
Things to Watch
Figures and widgets are drawn one by one against your privilege group. If a colleague sees a panel you do not, compare the two privilege groups before looking anywhere else.
Which widgets are shown, in what order, and the menu entries you pinned are stored on your own admin account. Changing it does not touch anyone else's dashboard, and it follows you to another device.
Required Privileges
Each figure has its own privilege in the DASHBOARD_STATISTIC_* family, and each widget one in the DASHBOARD_PANEL_* family. Without them the dashboard still opens; it is shorter.
