Sending Feedback to WISECP
Send a bug, an idea or a question straight to the WISECP team, with a marked-up screenshot attached. You report the problem while it is still on your screen, without opening a support ticket.
Opening the Window
The window opens from two places on every page of the panel: the Report a Bug button on the right edge, and the link of the same name at the bottom of the page.
On the ticket detail page the edge button is not shown; that edge belongs to the next-ticket button. The footer link stays on every page.
Both entry points appear while WISECP keeps the feedback channel open. The panel learns that decision from the daily update check. If scheduled tasks have not run yet, or the installation runs in demo mode, the window is not shown.
What Is in the Window
A short note at the top, the type, then the description box. A bar at the bottom of the box holds the Screenshot, Image, File and Link buttons. What you add appears inside the box as chips. The Send button closes the form.
In 5.0-beta.3 and earlier the window shows Screenshot, Attachments and Error Records as separate blocks, with a privacy line above Send. There a switch and a Records button decide which error records travel.
How the capture is taken
The browser takes the picture. If you share this tab in the sharing dialog, a strip with the page address and the date is added at the top. A window or a whole screen is kept as it is.
If you close the sharing dialog or refuse, the form stays open and an alert appears. You can still send the report without a picture.
The marking window
After a capture, the Mark the Screenshot window opens full screen. The top bar holds three tools plus Undo and Clear. The picture sits in the middle; Discard and Use This Screenshot sit at the bottom.
A picture takes up to 20 marks. Undo or Ctrl+Z removes the last mark; Clear removes them all. Discard drops your changes; a screenshot added earlier stays in place.
Tasks
Sending a report
- On the page where the problem happened, click the Report a Bug button.
- Pick the type, write the description and add a screenshot if it helps.
- Click the Send button.
- The form gives way to the Feedback Received message with a reference number under it.
When the team closes the report (completed, already done or declined) an email goes to your account address. A completed report also names the release that carries the fix.
If the report is refused, the reason appears in an alert at the top of the screen. Possible reasons: text under 20 characters, a picture over 3 MB or too many reports in a short time. Spam-like text and a closed channel are refused too.
Adding a screenshot
- In the bar under the description, click the Screenshot button. Its icon turns into a spinner while the browser prepares its sharing dialog; the form stays open.
- In the browser's sharing dialog, pick this tab or your screen and confirm. Only then does the window hide for a moment, and one frame is taken.
- Place your marks in the marking window and click Use This Screenshot.
- The form returns, and the picture leads the chips in the box. Its chip shows the number of marks and pixelated areas, or the picture size when there are none.
Adding files and links
- In the bar under the description, click the File button and pick your files, or drop them straight onto the window.
- To add an address, click Link; a field opens under the box. Type the address and click Add, or press Enter.
- Each file and address appears as a chip in the box, with its name and its size or type.
A type that is not accepted is refused, and so is a file over the limit or an invalid address. The reason appears in an alert at the top of the screen.
Changing or removing the screenshot
Click the picture chip to reopen the marking window with the same picture; its tooltip reads Edit. To replace the picture, click Screenshot or Image in the bar again. The cross on the chip removes the picture from the report.
Things to Watch
The description, the picture, and the files and addresses you attached. Also the page address and title, with browser and window details. Also the panel version, the PHP version, the license plan, the last four characters of the key and recent browser errors. Your name and email are attached as the reporter. Nothing is stored on this installation. Everything visible in the picture and in an attached file reaches the team. Pixelate private details before you send, or leave that file out.
A Bug report from staff with the Audit Logs privilege carries up to 10 error records from the last 72 hours. The server attaches them; the window does not list them, and Idea or Question reports carry none. Records are filtered before they are attached. The installation path and the admin folder name are hidden. Request parameters, cookies and visitor addresses never travel. A password, key or session token written inside the message itself is hidden too. The error text itself stays readable.
If the connection drops or the channel is closed, an alert appears. Your description is kept in the same browser tab and comes back when you reopen the window. If you change pages the picture is lost; take it again.
If scheduled tasks are not running, the entry points never appear. To refresh right away, open Help, Updates and click Check for Updates. While an update offer is on the page, the button shows only a circular-arrow icon; its name appears on hover. On an installation whose license is not recognised, sending is refused; refresh the license under Help, License Information.
Required Privileges
There is no separate privilege; every staff member who signs in to the panel can send one. Error records are attached only for staff who hold the Audit Logs privilege. In demo mode the window is not shown and sending is disabled.
