Set reseller activation, credit limits, payment restrictions, and base discounts in one place to apply consistent sales rules across every reseller.

Opening the Screen

It opens from the configuration button on the reseller management screen: {admin}/users/reseller-settings

What Is on the Screen

The settings sit in one form. While the reseller system is off, the conditions and discounts below it are shown disabled - they cannot be edited without switching the system on.

System Whether reselling is on across the installation. Off, the Reseller tab on a client record does not appear at all.

Activation How reselling is granted: manual (you approve each application) or automatic (an applicant becomes a reseller straight away).

Conditions The top-up floor, the credit threshold and the payment restriction. They can be overridden on a client's own card.

Identity verification Which verifications are required before someone can be a reseller.

Discount rates The base rates that apply to every reseller. A client's own rate for a target replaces only that target's base tiers.

Manual versus automatic activation

With manual, an application waits until you approve it and the client is not a reseller until then. With automatic, the applicant becomes a reseller instantly and sees the discounted prices at once. Automatic is quick, but without a verification requirement it opens the program to anyone.

Discount tiers

Under Reseller Discount Rates, a rate is set for all products, a product group, a category, a product or an addon. The narrower one overrides the wider. A category also covers its sub-categories, and Uncategorized covers a group's products that sit in no category.

Each target holds one or more tiers. A tier sets a range of services under Service Quantity and its Discount Rate (%). The count is taken at the target's level. An order counts every service that is not cancelled; a renewal or upgrade counts active services only. Leave the end of the range empty for no upper limit; the box then shows ∞. A rate takes up to two decimals, such as 12.25.

Fields

Reseller System The program's main switch. Off, the sections beneath it cannot be edited.

Reseller Activation Manual or automatic.

Non-Member Reseller Page On, the reseller landing page can be read without signing in.

Minimum Credit Load The least a reseller may top up at once.

Top-up limit currency The currency of the amount above.

Credit Threshold The amount a reseller's balance must not fall below.

Threshold currency The currency of the amount above.

Payment Method Restriction On, payments in reseller product groups can only be made with available credit.

Identity Verification Whether verification is required to become a reseller; e-mail, phone and any defined document filters are chosen separately.

API Service Whether resellers may work through the API.

Reseller Discount Rates Optional. The tier rows of each target: a Service Quantity range and a rate. An empty end has no upper limit; a rate takes two decimals.

Tasks

Open the reseller program

Switch the reseller system on; the sections beneath it become editable at that moment.
Choose the activation mode and set the credit conditions.
Save. The Reseller tab starts appearing on client records.

Require verification for reselling

In the identity verification section, make verification required.
Choose what is asked for: e-mail, phone, and any document filters that are defined.
Save. A client who has not completed verification cannot become a reseller - not even under automatic activation.

Set the base discount rates

Under Reseller Discount Rates, click Add Discount and choose the level in Select Level.
Choose the target in the picker that opens, then click Add Discount beside it.
In the target's row, enter the Service Quantity range and the rate. Add more tiers with Add Discount Rate.
Click Save Changes. The rates apply to resellers' purchases, renewals and upgrades from then on.

Things to Watch

Switching the system off hides the tab

With the reseller system off, the Reseller tab appears on no client at all. Nothing is deleted, only made unreachable; switching the system back on leaves everything as it was.

A client's card overrides the base target by target

A rate defined on a reseller's own card replaces the base tiers of that same target only. Every other base rate still applies to that reseller. Changing a base rate affects every reseller without a rate of their own for that target.

Automatic activation should not run without verification

Automatic mode makes an applicant a reseller instantly and opens the discounted prices. Without a verification requirement, that means reseller pricing for anyone who opens an account.

Required Privileges

Opening the screen and saving the settings need USERS_OPERATION.
