Name.com
Connect Name.com to manage domain orders and supported domain services from WISECP.
Access the Screen
Open: Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → Name.com: {admin}/module/registrars?module=NameCom.
What Is on the Screen
The screen contains Module Settings, Import and Import Extensions tabs.
Prepare the Provider Account
Create separate live and sandbox tokens in the Name.com account security settings. The current Core API setup guide permits two-factor authentication when name.com API Access is enabled. The module’s older field description says otherwise. Keep two-factor protection and enable API access. Live requests use api.name.com/core/v1; sandbox uses api.dev.name.com/core/v1. PHP cURL and intl are required. The sandbox has separate inventory and credit; new credentials may take 15 minutes to activate.

Tasks
Connect and Test
- In Module Settings, enable Test Mode (Sandbox) and enter the sandbox credentials.
- Click Test Connection. It requests a one-domain account listing; success does not verify purchasing, pricing or DNS changes.
- Click Save Changes and reopen the form. No separate WISECP server record is required.
- Verify an unsold test extension and sandbox service before choosing live credentials. Keep test extensions unavailable for sale.
Import Extensions and Prices
Under Import Extensions, select extensions and a profit rate, then click Import. Existing assignments and prices can change; new extensions are created inactive. The catalog imports one-year registration, renewal and transfer prices in USD. Unoffered operations have no price; their preview can show zero. Generic 1–10 year limits do not supply multi-year prices. Confirm extension rules and every offered duration before sale. Premium registration and renewal request current quotes; they can cost more than the standard catalog. Extension documents are not automatically configured.
Existing Domains
The Import tab provides a paginated list and prefix search. In this version, the selected domain is not passed into its information lookup. Do not rely on bulk import. Verify one entry in sandbox or arrange the existing service record with your administrator. Listing a domain does not transfer it to another registrar.
Manage the Service
Registration, incoming transfer, renewal, nameserver changes and date/transfer synchronization are implemented. Open the domain under Orders → Services. A transfer needs its auth code; movement between Name.com accounts depends on provider eligibility. Restore is not implemented: arrange redemption with Name.com.
DNS supports A, AAAA, ANAME, CNAME, MX, NS, SRV and TXT; CAA is not offered in this module. Use provider DNS for these records to serve traffic. TTL is raised to at least 300 seconds. DS records can be listed, added and deleted.
Child nameservers must belong to this domain. The form displays one IP; saving replaces the host’s address list with that IP. Renaming creates a new host and deletes the old one; deleting removes the whole host.
WHOIS supports contact changes and privacy switching. The privacy add-on purchases one year; disabling it does not request a refund. Transfer reads the domain’s auth code and allows transfer-lock changes.
URL forwarding supports 301/302 and email forwarding supports address management. The bare-domain URL rule is preferred; if absent, the first provider rule is edited or removed. Check which rule is selected before saving or cancelling.
Things to Consider
Live registration, transfer, renewal and privacy purchases can charge the account. Confirm premium quotes and balance before proceeding. Local suspension or cancellation does not cancel the provider domain or its billing.
For 401 errors, check environment, token, username suffix and API Access. A missing sandbox domain must first exist there. Recheck the provider status before retrying a pending operation; a connection test does not validate the full order flow.
Required Permissions
Setup requires Domain Name Registrars permission. Service operations depend on the corresponding administrator or client permissions and provider account access.
