INWX

Connect your INWX account to track domain orders and manage DNS through WISECP services.

Access the Screen

Open Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → INWX: {admin}/module/registrars?module=INWX.

What Is on the Screen

Module Settings contains account and DNS options. Import lists domains with search and pagination. Import Extensions retrieves extension prices.

Account and Test Access

  1. Prepare your INWX account or an API subaccount authorized to manage domains. The module signs in using a username and password.
  2. Create a separate account in the OT&E system for testing. Do not assume your production domains and passwords are available there.
  3. If two-factor authentication is enabled, securely retain the shared secret from TOTP setup. Enter that secret in the module, not a temporary six-digit code.
  4. Review the official API documentation. Check balance and extension requirements before live purchases; OT&E operations are not charged.

Settings

API UsernameRequired; initially empty. Username of the account in the selected environment.
API PasswordRequired; initially empty. Enter the same account's password.
Two Factor Shared Secret (TOTP)Initially empty; required when two-factor authentication is enabled. Generates login codes automatically.
Test Environment (OT&E)Disabled by default. Sends requests to api.ote.domrobot.com when enabled; otherwise uses api.domrobot.com.
Default NameserversOptional; empty. Enter one per line. When the order has none, this list precedes the shared fields.
Create the DNS Zone AutomaticallyDisabled by default. Adding a DNS record or URL forwarding can create a missing zone. Opening the list alone does not create one.
Default NameserversFour initially empty fields; the first two have required markers. Used for service defaults.
Automatic Cost UpdatesDisabled by default. Enables scheduled cost updates.
Cost CurrencyCompare the selection with the provider currency before importing. The catalogue returns annual costs excluding tax.

Tasks

Connect the Account

  1. In Module Settings, enable Test Environment (OT&E) and enter your separate test account.
  2. Click Test Connection at the bottom of the form. It checks login and TOTP authentication when required; it does not purchase domains.
  3. After success, click Save Changes and reopen the form. No separate server record is needed.
  4. Verify OT&E orders and customer management before enabling sales. Then disable testing, enter live credentials, test and save.

Assign Extensions

  1. Review costs in Import Extensions. Select rows and click Import; existing prices can also change.
  2. Under Products → Domains, select INWX in the extension's Registrar field. Click Update Extensions.
  3. Review periods and selling prices in the row's Pricing window. Click Save Changes; do not assume every extension supports every period.

Existing Domains

In Import, search for a domain, assign its customer and click Import. Define the extension first. Check the resulting service and dates. Request support if the domain cannot be resolved; a populated list alone does not prove a successful import.

Domain Operations

Registration, transfer, renewal, restore and status/date synchronization are implemented. Registration requires contacts and extension-specific requirements. The registry determines the transfer term. New registrations, transfers and restores use AUTOEXPIRE at the provider; renew through WISECP on time.

Open the domain under Orders → Services. DNS offers nameservers, child nameservers and INWX DNS records. SOA records cannot be edited. DNSSEC includes listing, adding DS information and deleting entries.

WHOIS provides contact details and privacy for supported extensions. Editing a shared contact can affect other domains. Transfer provides lock management and Get Transfer (EPP) Code.

Domain Forwarding uses an INWX DNS zone for 301/302 redirects. Email forwarding and frame forwarding are not implemented in this module. Customer management depends on permissions and active addons. WISECP does not expose every INWX API feature.

Things to Consider

Renewals and Prices

Live registration, transfer, renewal and restore incur charges. Keep track of renewals because the provider uses AUTOEXPIRE. Availability checks do not pass premium pricing to WISECP; confirm premium domain costs with INWX.

Troubleshooting

For login errors, check the environment, subaccount permissions, TOTP secret and server clock. For empty DNS lists, inspect the INWX zone and API permissions. Automatic zone creation does not complete nameserver delegation. Check pending transfers in INWX before submitting another request.

Required Permissions

Setup requires Domain Name Registrars permission. Service operations require their corresponding permissions.
