Ascio

Connect your Ascio account to submit domain orders and manage eligible services through WISECP.

Access the Screen

Open: Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → Ascio: {admin}/module/registrars?module=Ascio.

What Is on the Screen

The screen contains Module Settings, Import and Import Extensions tabs.

Prepare the Provider Account

Prepare an Ascio account and separate OTE credentials. Configure IP whitelisting for each environment; see the Ascio Domain API introduction. Live access uses aws.ascio.com/v3/aws.wsdl; OTE uses aws.demo.ascio.com/v3/aws.wsdl. PHP SOAP, cURL and intl must be available.

DNS records and forwarding require a separate AscioDns subscription and login. Its endpoints are dnsservice.ascio.com and dnsservice.demo.ascio.com; see Ascio DNS. Prepare the DNS zone with the provider; this module does not create zones.

Settings

Account NameRequired; initially empty. Enter the Ascio account name.
PasswordRequired; initially empty. Use the password for the selected environment.
Test Mode (OTE)Disabled by default. Enable to send all requests to OTE.
Sub Account (Impersonation)Optional; initially empty. Enter an authorized subaccount for impersonation.
Default Registration / Renewal Period (years)Default: 1 year. Fallback when the order or service supplies no duration; it does not override an explicit period.
Use AscioDns (DNS records and forwarding)Disabled by default. Enables AscioDns records and forwarding. It does not control AWS DNSSEC or domain nameservers.
AscioDns User NameInitially empty; required for AscioDns. Shown when AscioDns is enabled.
AscioDns PasswordInitially empty; required for AscioDns. Use the separate DNS-service password.
Default NameserversFour initially empty fields; the first two have required markers. Set valid nameservers before registration.
Automatic Cost UpdatesDisabled by default. Refreshes costs daily and applies the profit rate to selling prices. Only extensions assigned to this provider are updated.
Cost CurrencyDefault: US Dollar (USD). Match the account’s price currency; check the selection before saving and importing.

Tasks

Connect and Test

  1. Enable the test option and enter the test account.
  2. Click Test Connection. It reads one domain through GetDomains. A successful result does not test AscioDns, prices or order submission.
  3. Click Save Changes and reopen the form. No separate WISECP server record is required.
  4. Switch to live credentials after verifying test operations. Keep test extensions unavailable for sale.

Import Extensions and Prices

In Import Extensions, select extensions and a profit rate, then import. Existing provider assignments and prices can change; new extensions are created inactive. Prices come from GetPrices; periods and available TLD details are merged with TLD-Kit. Only priced extensions are included. Privacy availability can be detected, but its separate fee is not published as an addon cost. The extension preview can show zero despite available import prices. Verify the resulting costs, currency and selling prices.

Existing Domains

The Import tab lists domains with search and pagination. In this version, the selected name is not passed into the domain information lookup. Do not rely on bulk import. Verify one record in a test account or arrange the existing service record with your administrator. This operation is not a registrar transfer.

Manage the Service

Registration, transfer, renewal, restore, nameserver changes, locks, contacts and privacy use provider orders. Open the domain under Orders → Services. Acceptance is not completion; check order status in Ascio before repeating a request. Synchronization reads domain dates and transfer state.

DNS records support A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, PTR and SRV through AscioDns; CAA is not supplied. Default TTL is 3600. Domain nameservers use AWS separately. Child nameservers can be listed, added and deleted; editing is unavailable.

WHOIS supports contact and registrant-detail updates and privacy where eligible. Registrant details are not a full owner-change workflow. Required TLD documentation is not automatically built into a dedicated module form; confirm it before ordering.

Transfer reads the stored AuthInfo code; automatic generation is unavailable. DNSSEC uses AWS independently of AscioDns. Up to five DS keys can be attached; this module has no DS-delete operation. Remove keys through the provider portal.

AscioDns provides URL and email forwarding. URL forwarding ignores the requested 301/302 choice and reports 301. Cancelling it deletes all WebForward records in the zone. Check other redirects before cancellation. Email forwarding supports catch-all addresses.

Things to Consider

Charges and Operation Results

Live registration, transfer, renewal and restore can incur charges. An accepted order may still fail later. Local suspension or cancellation does not cancel a provider domain, pending order or billing.

Troubleshooting

Check SOAP availability, environment, credentials, IP permissions and provider order status. Test AscioDns separately when records are empty. Some availability errors are shown as unavailable; confirm the provider result before concluding that a domain is taken.

Required Permissions

Setup requires Domain Name Registrars permission. Service operations depend on the corresponding administrator or client permissions and provider account access.
