# METUnic

Connect your METUnic reseller account to register, transfer, renew and manage .tr and other extensions from WISECP.

## Accessing the Screen

Open **Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → METUnic**: `{admin}/module/registrars?module=METUnic`.

## What Is on the Screen

**Module Settings** holds the credit balance, credentials, test mode, default nameservers and cost settings. **Import** lists the active and paid domains held by the METUnic account. **Import Extensions** shows the extensions METUnic sells with their current costs.

### Preparing API Access

1. Sign in to the METUnic client portal and ask the partnership team for reseller API access if it is not enabled. Use your reseller account's username as the API username.
2. Load prepaid credit into the account. Every registration, transfer and renewal is paid from this balance. METUnic refuses a request without enough credit and the service stays pending; check the **Credit Balance** row before repeating it.
3. If API access is limited by IP address, ask METUnic to allow your WISECP server's outgoing IP address.
4. For testing, request separate credentials for api-test.metunic.com.tr. A live account cannot sign in there.

## Settings

- ****Credit Balance****: Shown after the API username and password are saved. It is read from METUnic each time the page opens; when the provider cannot be reached the row says why.
- ****API Username****: Required. The username of the METUnic reseller account; the module signs in with it and every order is billed to it.
- ****API Password****: Required. Stored encrypted; the saved value is never shown again.
- ****Test Mode****: Disabled by default. When enabled, every request goes to api-test.metunic.com.tr; it needs the test credentials, not the live ones.
- ****Default Nameservers****: Four fields; the first two are marked with an asterisk. The list is not added to orders automatically. The **Use provider's default nameservers** option on the service's DNS tab applies it. The **Use My Default Nameservers** button in the client area fills in the customer's own defaults first, otherwise this list.
- ****Automatic Cost Updates, Cost Currency****: Automatic updates are disabled by default. When enabled, METUnic extension costs are refreshed daily and sale prices follow your profit rate. Cost currency defaults to Turkish lira; METUnic prices in TRY, so keep this setting.

## Tasks

### Connecting and Testing

1. Enter **API Username** and **API Password**; check **Test Mode** only with test credentials.
2. Click **Test Connection** beside **Save Changes**. The test signs in; it places no order.
3. Click **Save Changes** and reopen the page. The **Credit Balance** row now shows the account balance.

### Importing Extensions

1. Open the **Import Extensions** tab. The list shows .com, .net, .org, .info, .me, .pro, .name, .cc, .tv and the .tr family with METUnic costs. An extension already defined in the system carries a green tick and cannot be selected.
2. Tick the extensions you sell and click **Import**. Each extension is added to **Products → Domains → Extensions and Prices** as inactive, with METUnic assigned. A one-year cost and sale price is written for registration, renewal and transfer; sale prices apply your domain profit rate.
3. Check the prices in the row's **Pricing** window. If you sell longer registration periods, enter the prices for those years too; customers can only choose years that have a price. Then activate the extension.
4. Import turns the **EPP Code** option on for every extension; transfer orders then ask for the EPP code. If the option is off on an extension added earlier, tick its **EPP Code** box and click **Update Extensions**. When **Automatic Cost Updates** is on, the daily update turns the option back on.

### Importing Domains

1. Open the **Import** tab. Active and paid domains in the METUnic account are listed with their dates; pending records are not listed. An account without domains shows an empty list instead of an error. Domains already registered in the system appear in green.
2. Select a customer on each row you import and click **Import**. An active domain service is created for that customer without any purchase.
3. A domain whose extension is not defined on the **Extensions and Prices** page is skipped. The result message names each skipped domain with its reason. Import the extension first, then the domain.

### Registration, Transfer and Renewal

For a .tr registration the registrant type comes from the billing address, then from the customer's account profile. If both are empty, a record with a company name counts as corporate. A person needs a national identity number; an organisation needs its company name, tax office and tax number. These details come, in order, from the extension's document fields, the billing address and the account profile.

The province is looked up in the WHOIS contact's **State** field, then the billing address province, then the **City** field. A Turkish province missing from METUnic's list is sent by its licence plate code. The country is matched against METUnic's .tr country list; Turkey is sent as code 215. If the province or country does not match, the registration stops and the reason is shown. An address line over 50 characters continues on the second line, broken at a word boundary without splitting a Turkish letter. Text that does not fit in two lines is not sent.

Other extensions are registered with the WHOIS contact details. Inbound transfers work for .tr and other extensions. Each group goes to its own METUnic transfer endpoint and starts with the EPP code the customer entered. Renewals use the requested year count and are paid from the credit balance.

### Managing a Domain

Open the domain under **Orders → Services**. The **DNS** tab changes nameservers, child nameservers and A, AAAA, MX, NS and TXT records; SRV and CAA are not offered. The **WHOIS** tab updates contacts for non-.tr names; change the holder of a .tr name in the METUnic panel. The **Transfer** tab reads the EPP code for both groups but changes the transfer lock only for non-.tr names. WHOIS privacy is not offered.

## Things to Consider

> **.tr Lock and Holder Are Managed at METUnic**
> 
> The METUnic API offers no transfer lock or holder change for .tr names. Do these in the METUnic panel; WISECP explains this when such an action is attempted.

> **Import Page by Page**
> 
> Both import tables send only the selections on the page you are viewing. When the list has more than one page, select on each page and click **Import** separately. Sending without a selection shows the warning “Nothing was selected to import. Only the selections on the page you are viewing are sent, so import each page separately.”

## Required Permissions

Setup and both import tabs require **Domain Name Registrars** permission. EPP Code and price changes on the **Extensions and Prices** page require the **Edit** permission under **Products**. Service operations require their corresponding service permissions.
