# Nominet

https://docs.wisecp.com/fr/nominet

Connect your Nominet registrar account to manage eligible .uk domain registrations and renewals through WISECP.

## Access the Screen

Open **Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → Nominet**: `{admin}/module/registrars?module=Nominet`.

## What Is on the Screen

The form contains EPP credentials, test and TAG options, and shared nameservers. There are no domain import or extension price import tabs.

### Register for EPP Access

1. Prepare an eligible Nominet registrar account and TAG. In Online Services, open **Tag Settings → EPP Live**.
2. Set an EPP password of at least 14 characters and authorize your WISECP server's outgoing IP. The EPP password is separate from the portal login.
3. Allow outbound TCP port 700 and TLS 1.2. Live access uses epp.nominet.org.uk. See [EPP registration](https://registrars.nominet.uk/uk-namespace/registration-and-domain-management/registration-systems/epp/registration/).
4. Register separately under **Tag Settings → EPP Testbed**. Set test credentials and IP permission. Allow up to one hour for changes; see [OT&E and Testbed](https://registrars.nominet.uk/uk-namespace/registration-and-domain-management/registration-systems/epp/testbed/).

## Settings

- ****Username****: Required; initially empty. Enter the registrar TAG used for EPP login.
- ****Password****: Required; initially empty. EPP password for the selected live or test environment.
- ****Test Mode****: Disabled by default. Uses testbed-epp.nominet.org.uk:700 when enabled. This selects Testbed, not the separate ote-epp service.
- ****Allow Client TAG Change****: Disabled by default. The current integration has no TAG-change operation connected to this option; enabling it does not provide customer TAG transfers.
- ****Default Nameservers****: Four initially empty fields; the first two have required markers. Confirm valid nameservers before registration.

## Tasks

### Connect and Test

1. Enable **Test Mode** in the module form and enter your Testbed TAG and EPP password.
2. Click **Test Connection** at the bottom. It opens an EPP connection and logs in; it does not register a domain.
3. Click **Save Changes** and reopen the form. No separate WISECP server record is required.
4. Keep test extensions unavailable for sale. Verify Testbed service operations before disabling **Test Mode** and entering live credentials.

### Assign Extensions and Prices

Under **Products → Domains**, select **Nominet** in the extension's **Registrar** field and click **Update Extensions**. Assign only supported .uk extensions; other namespaces are excluded from availability checks.

Open the row's **Pricing** window, enter costs and selling prices, then click **Save Changes**. Compare currency, eligible periods and account terms with Nominet. Automatic cost updates and premium prices are not supplied.

### Existing Domains and Transfers

Automatic domain listing and import are unavailable in this module. Arrange existing service records with your administrator and confirm customer, extension, provider and expiry date before management.

Incoming .uk transfers depend on an external IPS TAG change. The module's transfer action reads domain information and can report success without confirming TAG ownership. Complete the provider's TAG/handshake process and verify the domain on your TAG before treating the transfer as complete.

### Manage Domain Services

Registration, renewal, nameserver updates and date synchronization are implemented. Open the domain under **Orders → Services**. Confirm its expiry date before renewal: the module sends the service's current due date to Nominet.

In **DNS**, nameserver changes can create missing host objects. This module has no DNS record, DNSSEC, child nameserver editing, URL forwarding or email forwarding operations.

**WHOIS** changes update the registrant contact only. Contact retrieval and privacy switching are unavailable. Verify legal type and registrant details with Nominet; the default module supplies no additional eligibility form.

**Transfer** actions for locking and **Get Transfer (EPP) Code** write authInfo values. Code retrieval generates a new value. These are not a TAG change or proof of registry transfer protection; manage .uk transfers through Nominet's supported process.

Suspension, reactivation and cancellation do not send a registry change. There is no restore operation. Customer controls depend on service permissions; enabling the TAG option does not add missing functionality.

## Things to Consider

> **Renewals and Transfer Ownership**
>
> Live registrations and renewals can incur charges. Local cancellation does not cancel the domain at Nominet or stop provider billing. A successful connection or transfer message is not proof that the domain belongs to your TAG.

> **Troubleshooting**
>
> For connection errors, check the EPP password, source IP, port 700, TLS and selected environment. Testbed domains are fictional; live domains are not copied there. Compare synchronized dates with Nominet; an authorization failure can produce an unknown status.

## Required Permissions

Setup requires **Domain Name Registrars** permission. Service actions require their corresponding permissions and an authorized Nominet TAG.
