# Client Account Statement

https://docs.wisecp.com/en/client-account-statement

See what a client was billed and what they paid in one running list, with the balance after each line, and download it as a PDF or a spreadsheet.

## Opening the Screen

Open a client and choose the **Account Statement** tab: `{admin}/users/detail?id={client}&tab=statement`

The tab is not available in 5.0-beta.3 and earlier.

## What Is on the Screen

The statement lists invoices, payments, refunds and account credit movements in date order. A debit raises what the client owes; a credit lowers it.

- **Statement currency**: Shown only when the client has movements in more than one currency. Each currency has its own statement.
- **Statement period**: Last 12 Months, This Year, Last Year, All Time or Custom Range. The tab opens on the last 12 months.
- **Date range**: Picking a first and a last day switches the period to Custom Range.
- **Totals**: Total Debit, Total Credit and the Closing Balance of the period. Dr after an amount means the client owes it; Cr means it is in the client's favour. A closing balance the client owes is shown in red.
- **List**: Date, Transaction, Details, Debit, Credit and Balance. The first line is the Opening Balance, which carries everything before the period.
- **Download PDF**: Downloads the statement for the selected currency and period, in the client's language.
- **Export**: Saves the same lines as a CSV file that opens in Excel, with a currency column added.

The Transaction column names each line: invoice, credit top-up invoice, payment, invoice refund, refund payout, credit added or credit used. A cancelled invoice adds no line, but a payment made to it is still listed.

## Tasks

### Send a client their statement

1. Choose the currency, if the picker is shown, and the period.
2. Click **Download PDF**. The file carries your company details, the client's details, the period and every line.
3. Send the file to the client in your usual way. The panel does not email it.

### Check what a client owed at a date

1. In **Date range**, pick the first and the last day you are interested in.
2. Read the **Closing Balance**. With Dr, the client owed that amount at the end of the range.

## Things to Watch

> **Payments from account credit are not listed twice**
>
> An invoice paid from account credit shows only the invoice line, with the note Paid from account credit. The payment and the credit movement cancel out, so neither is listed.

> **Account credit changed without a record**
>
> If the client's credit was changed without a movement record, for example by an import, a note under the totals shows both figures. The statement follows the movements.

> **Staff notes stay in the panel**
>
> A payment or refund marked by hand, with no payment record behind it, carries a note in the panel. The PDF leaves that note out.

## Required Privileges

The tab, the PDF and the export are shown only to staff who hold `INVOICES_LOOK`.
