# Choosing Your WISECP Version: V3 Stable or V5 Beta

https://docs.wisecp.com/en/choosing-your-wisecp-version

Every WISECP licence page on wisecp.com offers two version lines, so you decide whether to download the stable release or try the V5 beta without giving up the copy you run today.

## Where to Find It

Sign in to your wisecp.com account, open **My Services** and click the WISECP licence. The **Overview** tab shows the **License** and **Download** panels under a switch with two tabs: **V5 Beta** and **V3 Stable**. The page opens on **V5 Beta**.

The switch appears on every WISECP licence, whatever the plan. Add-ons and other products keep a single download.

## What Is on the Screen

Each tab is the full page of that line: the same licence key, domain, status and type, plus the version and the download that belong to the line. Only the badge on the tab and the download button change.

- **V5 Beta**: The current beta build. Its download goes through a confirmation window (see below).
- **V3 Stable**: The released 3.x version. Its download starts at once.
- **Installed**: Shown on the line your installation last reported. A licence that has never reported shows no badge.
- **License Key**: Shown on both tabs. A licence sold without a key receives one the moment you accept the beta; a V5 installation asks for it.
- **Selected**: Shown on **V5 Beta** once you have accepted the beta terms on this licence.
- **License Version**: The version of that line: the one you run when the line is installed, otherwise the build the line offers. It links to the release notes.
- **Released**: The publication date of the offered build.
- **Download button**: Reads **Download Installed Version** on the line you run and **Download Installation Package** on the other; the version number follows the label.

Below the button, **Version History & Downloads**, **System Requirements** and **Installation Guide** open the matching pages.

## Tasks

### Download V5 Beta

1. On the **V5 Beta** tab, click **Download Installation Package** in the **Download** panel.
2. The **Download V5 Beta** window lists three points; read them.
3. Tick **I understand this is a beta build and accept these conditions.** The **Download Beta** button unlocks.
4. Click **Download Beta**.

Result: the package downloads, the window closes and the tab shows **Selected**. The window opens on every V5 download; your first acceptance is recorded once, with its date.

### Download V3 Stable

1. Open the **V3 Stable** tab.
2. Click the download button in the **Download** panel.

Result: the zip downloads at once. Nothing on the licence changes, and no confirmation is asked.

## Things to Watch

> **The beta belongs on a test server**
>
> A beta is not stable: features can change and errors can appear. Install it on a test server and keep a full backup of any data you move into it.

> **Accepting the beta moves the licence to the V5 network**
>
> Once the beta installation reports in, the service is recorded as running V5. The **V3 Stable** tab stays available and its download needs nothing from you. Later beta builds reach the installation through its own [Updates](https://docs.wisecp.com/en/updates) screen.

> **Downloads need an active licence**
>
> A suspended or cancelled licence offers no download on either tab. Sign in with the account that owns the licence; another account sees the service as not found.
