Connect your Namecheap account to sell domains and let customers manage their domain settings through WISECP.

## Accessing the Screen

Open **Products → Domains → Domain Name Registrars → All Modules → Namecheap**: `{admin}/module/registrars?module=Namecheap`.

## What Is on the Screen

**Module Settings** contains account settings. **Import** lists existing domains; **Import Extensions** lists registration, transfer and renewal costs.

### Preparing the Provider Account

1. Create a Namecheap account. Open **Profile → Tools → Business & Dev Tools → Namecheap API Access → MANAGE** and enable API access.
2. Production access requires 20 domains, a $50 account balance, or $50 spent within two years. Contact Namecheap if your account does not qualify.
3. Under **Whitelisted IPs → Edit → Add IP**, allow the WISECP server’s outbound IPv4 address and click **Save Changes**.
4. Create a separate sandbox account and enable its API access. Keep its username and key separate from production. See the [API setup guide](https://www.namecheap.com/support/api/intro/) and [eligibility and limits](https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/9739/63/api-faq/).

## Settings

- ****Test Mode****: Off by default. Selects the sandbox server and shows its credential fields.
- ****Username****: Required in production; initially empty. Your Namecheap account username.
- ****API Key****: Required in production; initially empty. Use the key from Namecheap API Access.
- ****Sandbox Username****: Required in test mode; initially empty. Your separate sandbox account username.
- ****Sandbox API Key****: Required in test mode; initially empty. Use the sandbox account’s key.
- ****Coupon Code****: Optional; initially empty. Sent with registration, transfer, renewal and privacy renewal requests. Namecheap determines eligibility.
- ****Default Nameservers****: Four initially empty fields. The first two have required markers. Without both, service defaults use the system nameservers.
- ****Automatic Cost Updates****: Off by default. Enables scheduled provider cost updates.
- ****Cost Currency****: Check the initial selection before importing. Namecheap prices and additional charges are converted into this currency.

## Tasks

### Connecting and Testing

1. In **Module Settings**, enable **Test Mode** and enter the sandbox credentials.
2. Click **Test Connection** beside **Save Changes**. It requests the domain list without purchasing a domain.
3. After a successful response, click **Save Changes**. Reopen the form to check the saved mode. No separate server record is needed.
4. For production, disable **Test Mode**, enter production credentials, test and save. Fund the Namecheap balance before purchases.

### Importing Extensions and Domains

1. Open **Import Extensions**, select extensions and click its **Import** button.
2. Under **Products → Domains**, check registrar assignments and selling prices. Importing can update existing extensions using the configured profit margin.
3. For domains already in Namecheap, open **Import**. Assign customers, check dates and click **Import**.
4. Check each resulting service’s customer and expiry date. Import creates local services without registering or transferring domains.

### Registration, Transfer and Renewal

Assign sold extensions to Namecheap. Complete owner details, extension requirements and nameservers before registration. Inbound transfers require the current registrar’s unlock and EPP code. WISECP monitors accepted transfers and sends renewal requests for the selected number of years. Before repeating a failed purchase, check the provider order and expiry date.

### Managing a Domain

Open the domain under **Orders → Services**. **DNS** provides nameservers, child nameserver creation/editing/deletion and DNS records. The child nameserver list contains entries stored with the WISECP service. Host record editing requires Namecheap DNS. DNS record types: A, AAAA, ALIAS, CAA, CNAME, MX, MXE, NS, TXT, URL, URL301 and FRAME. URL types provide web forwarding through DNS records. Namecheap accepts TTL values from 60 to 60000 seconds.

**WHOIS** reads contacts and updates the owner profile. **Transfer** manages the transfer lock. **Get Auth (EPP) Code** returns an unsupported-operation message. In Namecheap, open **Domain List → Manage → Sharing & Transfer → Transfer Out** and request the Auth Code. It is emailed to the domain’s registrant address. Customers manage their own service according to permissions and active addons. DNS management and privacy may require an active addon. Privacy also depends on the extension. Status and expiry synchronization are available. DNSSEC, separate forwarding screens and expired-domain recovery are not provided by this integration.

## Things to Consider

> **DNS and Charges**
> 
> A DNS edit sends the complete record set. Avoid simultaneous edits in Namecheap and WISECP. Purchases and privacy renewals can charge your provider balance.

> **Before Selling**
> 
> Validate registration, transfer, renewal and customer management with authorized sandbox domains before enabling sales. A connection test does not verify these workflows. Respect Namecheap’s API quotas.

## Required Permissions

Setup requires **Domain Name Registrars** permission. Service operations require their corresponding service permissions.
