# DirectAdmin

https://docs.wisecp.com/de/directadmin

Connect DirectAdmin to manage hosting accounts and let clients use their hosting tools from WISECP.

## Opening the Screen

Open **Products → Hosting & Servers → Server Settings → Add New Server**. Under **Server Automation Module → Web Hosting**, select **DirectAdmin**.

`{admin}/products/servers-add`. Click an existing server’s name to edit it.

## Before You Connect

Use a licensed DirectAdmin server and an administrator/reseller account that owns the target users. Create a dedicated key in DirectAdmin’s **Login Keys** page. Allow the WISECP server IP and the account, package and user-tool commands you need. User tools require login-as access; one-click sign-in also needs login-key creation. The Login Key name is not the Username. [DirectAdmin API access](https://docs.directadmin.com/developer/api/).

Use an active server record and a Hosting product. This module has no provider-price catalogue import. Product prices and billing currency are set in WISECP.

## Connection and Product Settings

- **Address / Hostname**: Required. Enter the panel host without a URL path. HTTPS port: 2222. Hostname takes precedence over Address when connecting.
- **Username / Password / Login Key**: Username is required. Supply a password or Login Key; the key takes precedence when both are present. Keep existing password dots to preserve it.
- **Verify SSL Certificate**: On for new records. Keep HTTPS and certificate verification enabled; Use Custom Port overrides the module port.
- **Identity and Capacity**: Monthly Cost defaults to zero; choose its currency. Maximum Accounts defaults to 200 when empty. Occupancy alerts require a limit. Nameservers accepts four lines.

### Module Configuration

On the product’s **Automation** tab, these fields appear in **Module Configuration** after choosing the server.

- **Package**: Optional. Select a user package by name; without one, creation uses product limits. An unavailable list becomes a text field.
- **Add as Reseller**: Off by default. Appears only when reseller packages can be listed.
- **Reseller Package**: Shown for reseller mode. Select a package visible to the connected administrator.
- **IP Assignment**: Reseller mode only; defaults to Shared. Shared Reseller uses the reseller’s shared IP; Assign New IP needs free capacity.

## Tasks

### Connect and Check

1. Enter the fields under **Connection Details**, then click **Test Connection** in that section.
2. The test lists users visible to the connected account. It does not prove account creation or all user-tool permissions.
3. Complete **Identity and Capacity** and click **Add New Server**. Confirm the server appears in the list; editing uses **Save Changes**.

### Map the Product

1. Open a Hosting product’s **Automation** tab. Select **DirectAdmin** in **Module Assignment**.
2. In **Server Configuration**, choose **Single Server** or **Server Group**. Group members need matching package names.
3. Choose the package and review **Resource Limits**; package selection can fill these values. This does not import products or prices.
4. For initial checks, keep the product hidden and **Automatic Setup** off, then click **Save Changes**. Reopen Automation to verify the selection.

The product’s Add-ons tab can map Shell Access; Requirements lists PHP Version, but account creation does not apply it. Choose PHP in DirectAdmin itself. A dedicated-IP add-on is not declared by this module. Selecting DirectAdmin does not automatically create saleable add-ons or requirement choices.

### Import Existing Accounts

1. Open the saved server’s **Import** tab and click **List Results** to list accounts.
2. Select accounts and match each to a client, product, billing cycle, start and end dates. Existing domain matches prevent duplicate service links.
3. Click **Import** below the list. Check **Linked Services**; importing links existing accounts and does not create new panel accounts.

### Manage Services and Client Tools

Open an existing service and select **Management → Overview** for its tools or **Management → Settings** for configuration. Service-specific **Preferences** can also hide tools. See [Service Management](https://docs.wisecp.com/en/service-management) for action windows and confirmations.

Service management supports account creation, suspension, unsuspension, termination, password changes and upgrades. Service configuration offers Change Package and Reseller Status. Account type changes require administrator privileges; a reseller with child accounts cannot be converted to a user. Client and administrator sign-in create one-time URLs valid for 30 minutes. phpMyAdmin and Webmail also open provider sessions.

In a saved server’s **Preferences → Client Area Preferences**, choose the client tools and click **Save Changes**. Product access restrictions also apply. Clients open their hosting service’s **Management** tab to use the enabled tools.

File Manager, Backups, FTP Accounts, Subdomains, Addon Domains, Domain Redirects, Email Accounts, Email Forwarders, DNS Zone Editor, Cron Jobs, PHP INI Editor, Databases, phpMyAdmin and Webmail. There is no SSL, PHP-version selector, remote-database or IP-blocking tool. Subdomain editing/custom document roots, addon-domain editing, forwarder editing, database-user renaming, FTP quota and global cron email are unavailable. Backups cannot be deleted here.

Disk/bandwidth gauges and account/resource information reflect provider data. Scheduled usage collection updates enabled metrics; it does not synchronize package prices. Validate an existing test service’s details without creating or deleting a provider account.

## Things to Watch

> **Data and Costs**
>
> Termination removes the hosting account and its data. For a reseller it also removes packages owned by that reseller. Restoring a backup overwrites current data. Lower limits and shell changes affect existing accounts immediately. Panel licences, hosting and optional services may incur provider charges.

## Required Privileges

Server access requires **MODULES_SERVERS_SETTINGS**; product changes require **PRODUCTS_OPERATION**. Administrator panel sign-in requires **MODULES_ROOT_LOGIN_BUTTON**. Service actions need the corresponding service privileges.
